Description
This piece is poplar crotch that came from a poplar tree at the Stayner Bible Camp. Crotch wood comes from the junction of the main tree and a large branch. When cut correctly, it can yield incredible figure created by the compression in the wood. This was finished with two coats of walnut oil followed by a coat of my homemade “bowl butter” — a mixture of walnut oil, beeswax, carnuba wax, and a touch of grapefruit oil. The finish is food-safe.
